Loving These Links // 5

  • How's your Monday so far. Bad? Hopefully some of these pictures cheer you up! My favorites are 12, 16 (favorite), and 17 (yes!)
  • I don't think I've ever read an article that I agreed with more. #1: "Okay, this is true" #2: "Yes. Every time." (I have to have a pad of paper on my bedside table) #3: "Absolutely" (I'm hooked) #4/5: "This is ME"
  • Vocals, Guitar, Percussion, and Swagger. This guy has pure talent. Watch this video and enjoy!

I'm really getting into this little series on my blog. It's fun to share some interesting links with you but also for myself. I used to have a HUGE folder of links to read; now I can just check back on these posts to reread some of my favorite articles. Before I would open up the folder and be so overwhelmed with all the bookmarks, I never would actually look at any of them. Here, I separated them by week and have given a quick little clue/description of the article.

Loving These Links // 4

  • New comical video. I actually really like the music. And the lyrics... they're just funny and catchy.
  • I wouldn't go as far as saying I want a tornado at my wedding, but I gotta say, this is pretty cool.
  • REALLY want to buy these, or at least DIY them. They are witty and sweet.
  • Last week I shared a site called 12hrs and this week I have another similar  site. Melting Butter. Full travel guides all the way down to inspired music.
Only 4 links this week. Everything was sort of slow this past week; I didn't find many links worth sharing.

Loving These Links // 3

  • At 18 years old I guess I'm not smart enough to get into this private kindergarden. Are you? Take the quiz here.
  • Ha! Thought this was funny. For those of you that live in these cities, do you agree?
  • Really want to make these tacos (sans the nuts because of allergies)
  • How good are your geography skills? Google Maps has a new game and I'm addicted. I played the game for and hour and a half straight.
  • I love all things design, especially interior design. Design your own dream room here by answering some questions about your style. I have to say, I tried it out and it was pretty spot on. I even pinned them on my Pinterest.
  • "Traveling it the only thing you buy that makes you richer." I completely agree with this quote. Every time I go to a new place, I love immersing myself in the culture, the food, and the locals. Although I like doing touristy things (like who would go to Paris and not see the Eiffel Tower), I loving strolling into a cute cafe and having a pastry and a hot drink. This blog is great for those of you who don't have much time in a city. The site is travel-focused with 12-hour travel guides to popular cities.
  • One thing about me is that I LOVE sleeping. Actually, I love my bed. In the morning I will say that it takes me a full 10 minutes to get out of my bed after waking up. Usually I lie in bed thinking about the upcoming day and enjoy the comfort and warmth of the duvet draped over me. Trust me, if I had the option to stay in bed the whole day, I would take it in a heartbeat. I found Parachute a couple of days ago and I like their philosophy: quality bedding without through-the-roof prices. I really have been wanting to buy a set but it's just not practical because my bed in college is a twin and the bedding doesn't come in twin sizes. But for those of you with Full - Cali King beds, I think it's worth checking out. If your not fully committed to taking the plunge and buying bedding online that you haven't felt in person, they offer swatches for $3. Also, if you buy their Venice sleep bundle they will send a bed net to families in Africa to protect against malaria-carrying mosquitos. Check out their blog as well. My favorite is their "The Unwinding Experience" series.

I apologize for the length of the last two bullet points. I guess they were a little more extensive because I talked myself a bit. But hey, I hope you enjoyed learning more about me. When I read other blogs, I love learning more about the blogger; it gives the blog a more personal touch and I feel like I am listening to a friend rather than a stranger.

P.S. Congratulations to Germany on the World Cup win! (I haven't said on the blog, but I am an avid World Cup watcher.)

*** Schweinsteiger, I think you deserve a medal for being the toughest player. You were beat and bleeding yet you still got up and played your heart out. And Kramer as well; hope he's better. He walked off the field a little dazed. Let's not forget about Götze. Amazing substitute that made an amazing goal. As well as Schürrle, and Müller. (You know what, everyone on the team deserves recognition)

Loving These Links // 2

This week's 'Loving These Links' post has a lot of Refinery29 articles by the way. Most of them were found through Pinterest.

  • This video was so entertaining to watch. Those female singers! It didn't even seem like he was singing those parts. Rob Cantor, please upload another one!
  • How do you wear your cutoffs? This article is great for everyone no matter what your style is. Classic, boho/festival, girly, edgy, etc. My favorite slides are 2,3,4,6, and 11.
  • There's an order to eating sushi? This post also teaches you how to dip your sushi into soy sauce the right way, differentiate between different parts of tuna, and why you shouldn't rub your chopsticks together. Worth the read; especially for me because I LOVE sushi
  • Saw these loafers. Not really my style but as soon as I saw them I knew I had to have them. It's a pity that they are sold out. I hope Topshop restocks them.
  • I want to try these knotted hair styles. Hopefully they work on my hair because my hair is notorious for being super stubborn. Basically the only thing my hair can do is curl and straighten. No matter how many different messy bun hair styles I try, none of them actually work.
  • This post made me add some new places to my next vacation spots. Maybe it will add some places to your list. They have a lot of destinations that I would have never considered before.
Second installment to my 'Loving These Links' series. I hope you are enjoying this one and the previous one. I'm not sure if I am going to commit to doing one of these every single week but we'll see (it might be especially difficult because in the fall I am making a big transition: COLLEGE) Anyway, have a great start of the week!

July 4th Picks

Happy July! I can't believe it is already the second half of 2014. In a couple of months I will be starting college!

What do you think of my first collage? At first I thought this would be so easy to make and it probably is, but I struggled. I used Photoshop if you were wondering. Sizing the images, organizing the layout, and the border were things that took some researching and time to get right, but I think it turned out pretty well.

July 4th is tomorrow and I know this is kind of last minute, but here are some of my picks for July 4th.

***Maybe you already tested it out, but hover over the image and see what happens***
